Easter - Love Lives Again!

A central message of Easter: Love lives again! It cannot in fact be defeated. We may try, empires may try. We may bury it, thinking it gone. But the power of Love is stronger than our own power.
Easter - Love Lives Again!
Now the green blade riseth, from the buried grain,
Wheat that in dark earth many days has lain;
Love lives again, that with the dead has been:
Love is come again like wheat that springeth green.

A central message of Easter: Love lives again! It cannot in fact be defeated. We may try, empires may try. We may bury it, thinking it gone. But the power of Love is stronger than our own power.

Hallelujah! Christ is risen! Loves wins!
Death has been defeated. Where is its sting?
Praise to our God! Christ is risen! Love is come again!
Defeat is not the final word. Evil cannot win.
Hallelujah! Christ is risen! Sing praises to our God!

Easter Growth

“Some periods of our growth are so confusing that we don’t even recognize that growth is happening. We may feel hostile or angry or weepy and hysterical, or we may feel depressed. It would never occur to us, unless we stumbled on a book or a person who explained to us, that we were in fact in the process of change, of actually becoming larger, spiritually, than we were before. Whenever we grow, we tend to feel it, as a young seed must feel the weight and inertia of the earth as it seeks to break out of its shell on its way to becoming a plant. Often the feeling is anything but pleasant. But what is most unpleasant is the not knowing what is happening. Those long periods when something inside ourselves seems to be waiting, holding its breath, unsure about what the next step should be, eventually become the periods we wait for, for it is in those periods that we realize that we are being prepared for the next phase of our life and that, in all probability, a new level of the personality is about to be revealed.”

Music for Easter

Easter is a Season too!

Easter is not just a day. It's also a seven Sunday season!

During the season of Easter, Uncle Ishmael will be exploring various “Easter People” from the biblical book of Acts and in our contemporary world. Easter People live and move in light of the good news of Resurrection. How do the events of Easter affect our lives and actions today? What difference does Resurrection make? Join us each week in this newsletter as we seek to become witnesses to Resurrection, to be Easter People!
